Welcome New Members
Membership
Welcome to New City Jewish Center, a house of worship, a house of learning, and a house in which to gather.
Our spiritual, educational and lay leadership join us in extending NCJC's hospitality to our prospective members and guests from near and far. Because we believe that prayer can add so much depth and meaning to our lives, we want our services to be "user-friendly, " wholly accessible, easily understandable and spiritually enriching for all.
Children of all ages are always welcome here -- not merely tolerated, but embraced. We don't take our future or granted and they are our future. The voices of small children are a sign of life for any community. At a time when so many young Jews have become alienated from organized religious life, we want them to feel at home in their synagogue. Nonetheless, it is important that children come to view the sanctuary as a special sacred space.
There are so many ways in which you can participate at NCJC. Each member may have come to the Center for a different reason and with different needs and interests. With that in mind, we have tried to provide something here for each person every level of involvement. The synagogue needs and welcomes your support and participation -- no matter how small or large -- in areas of our religious observances and obligations, social activities, fund raising activities, Hebrew School, children's activities, Youth Community, and more.
Please fee welcome to visit any of our services at any time. If you would like to meet with some of our officers or members, arrange for a tour of the synagogue, or discuss membership information in further detail, please call the office at (845) 638-9600 to have someone from the membership committee contact you to arrange an appointment.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with you.
